The iconic World Arabian Horse Championship, a prestigious event held in Paris for over 40 years, is set to make a historic move to Qatar. In a groundbreaking development, the Cultural Village Foundation at Katara will host this renowned show's 2023 and 2025 editions, marking the first time it ventures outside France. This monumental shift resulted from a strategic partnership between Katara and CENECA, an agricultural exhibitions and competitions organization based in France.

The reputable team at Arabhorse.com has been invited to cover this prestigious show. The only USA Media company invited. We have been a proud partner at the Katara International Horse Festival, covering the 2021, 2022, and 2023 events, and looking forward to the 2024 show. Arabhorse's decades-long dedication and expertise in equestrian journalism & marketing have been instrumental in bringing the beauty of Arabian horses to a global audience. We are proud to partner with Katara again for the World Championship Show.

Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara, highlighted the significance of Qatar's role in hosting this event. He expressed that bringing the World Arabian Horse Championships to Qatar strengthens the country's standing in the equestrian community and fuels global interest in purebred Arabian horses. The competition holds an esteemed position as the most prestigious event for showcasing the world's most exquisite Arabian purebred horses.

Each December, this lavish event draws over 100 horses from more than 25 countries, with approximately 2,000 attendees comprising passionate owners and accomplished breeders. The transition of hosting duties to Qatar reflects the nation's commitment to becoming a beacon in the region, the Middle East, and the world.

The 2023 edition will be hosted by Katara from December 6 to 9, ushering in a new era for the World Arabian Horse Championship. The 2024 edition will briefly return to Paris Porte De Versailles from December 13 to 14, followed by the 2025 edition at Katara again from December 10 to 13. The cycle continues, with the 2026 edition scheduled for Paris Porte De Versailles from December 11 to 15.

CENECA, known for its appreciation of Arabian Horses as the "Prince of the Desert," emphasizes the global significance of these magnificent creatures. Arabian horses have transcended time, evolving into a mystical legend, victorious warriors, epic steeds, and elite progenitors. The breeding of purebred Arabians today is considered an art meticulously preserved by a dedicated sector of professionals, including owners, breeders, trainers, and artisans.

Additionally, Prof. Dr. Al Sulaiti highlighted the forthcoming third edition of the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival, set to take place from February 1 to 11 at Katara Esplanade. With a substantial prize purse of QR 17,083,500, the event will encompass three competitions: The Peninsula Show from February 1 to 4, the Arabian Horse Auction on February 7, and the Title Show from February 8 to 11.

For those eager to participate in the World Arabian Horse Championship, registration opens on October 17 and closes on October 31, as announced by the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara. Latecomers still have a chance, with late entries being accepted from November 1 to 7 at the Old Doha Port. Horses must be registered in a studbook recognized by the World Arabian Horse Organization (WAHO) to qualify.

The stringent qualifications for participating horses reflect the championship's high standards. They must have excelled at affiliated European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations (ECAHO) shows, achieving top placements in various categories. A complete list of requirements is available on Katara's website.

The 2023 edition of the World Arabian Horse Championship is a landmark event for Qatar, marking a significant departure from its traditional location in France for over four decades. Katara's role as host further cements Qatar's position in the equestrian community and showcases the nation's commitment to preserving and celebrating the beauty of Arabian horses. The Arabian horse, once again, takes center stage in a new and exciting setting.
