Foxbriar Arabians is owned and operated by Marlene and George Rieder. Marlene, who is a registered nurse, has experience in Intensive Care, Cardiac Care, Rehab and Home Health. This has enabled her to apply her knowledge and hands-on experience when
working with livestock, including providing her with the confidence needed for handling the horses and cattle especially during foaling season.
George, who is retired after selling his auto repair business, enjoys his "hobby farm" raising black Angus cattle and producing hay. He has always farmedpart time, but considers working full time on the farm as relaxing as compared to the hectic schedule most people endure, this is a vacation. Of course, living in the beautiful Ozarks with its beautiful hills and ideal climate, just adds to the enjoyment.
Marlene's dream since childhood has been to own and breed Arabian horses. Growing up in a damily that promoted readying, she devoured every book about horses that she could find, including the legendary Black Stallion series. Marlene was fortunate to own a horse as a teenager, but unfortunately it was not an Arabian horse. Finaly, after marrying and raising two sons, she acquired a small Crabbet bred mare in 1995. After experiencing the spirit, beauty and personality that Arabian horses are so well known for, she was determined to breed for her own offspring. She bought a beautiful
Russian bred mare that has been the foundation of her breeding program. She has now been breeding Arabians for over 10 years with an emphasis on producing foals that represent the natural presence, grace, versatility and beauty of the Arabian breed.
"Our goal is not only to produce exceptional halter horses, but also individuals that exhibit athletic qualities along with a pleasing and kind temperament. As a small breeder, we hope we can introduce others to the unparalleled qualities of the Arabian horse, so that they too can enjoy the excitement and pleasure of the breed."
