The 2017 Arabian Horse World Championship ~With a Dedication to Dr. Nasr Marei By Lisa Abraham The 2017 Arabian Horse World Championship in Paris, France took place on November 24 – 26 and under the High Patronage of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco. Although the 37 th edition of this historically important show, it takes place as part of the much larger equine exposition, the Salon du Cheval. The Salon du Cheval, which is one of Europe’s premier equine events, is in its 47 th edition and took place over a nine-day span beginning on November 25 th . 2016 Arabian World Breeders Cup By Lisa Abraham The Arabian Breeders World Cup (ABWC), which took place from April 14 th -17th, celebrated its tenth Anniversary as one of the world’s most important Arabian horse shows. Once again our global community gathered in Las Vegas, at the South Point Hotel & Casino, to enjoy both each other and top level halter competition. Personal Profile: Debbie Fuentes By Lisa Abraham I met Debbie Fuentes, the Registrar of the Arabian Horse Association (AHA), several years ago in Paris, at the Salon Du Cheval. After classes one day, Anna Bishop, the Executive Director of The Pyramid Society, introduced us. Of course I was thrilled to meet her, since, like everyone else, I had a registration issue to discuss with her—right off the bat. As I quickly and happily discovered, Debbie is always prepared to handle AHA issues. She carefully listened, made notes and, after returning home, addressed the matter for closure. Since that time Debbie and I have become close friends, sometimes even traveling to shows together. One
