3048_mediumThe All Nations Cup was the first International show that I attended many years ago. That first year was magical, I was so impressed with everything, from the presentations of the horses to the way the arena was setup for the spectators. The first show was a wonderful experience and this year was just as magical as the first.  There was the anticipation of seeing two legends of our breed being shown again in Europe after many years in the USA.

First there was Marwan Al Shaqab, surely the most influential stallion of the last decade.  He was in fine form, conditioned perfectly and looking more beautiful then ever.  He was quite fond of himself and really owned the ring, striking and squealing at any other stallion that came near him.  Everyone knew how special he really was and was the high scoring horse of the show.  The other high scoring horse, tied in scores with Marwan, is the multi International champion mare Pianissima, arguable the most beautiful mare representing the Polish breeding program.

Another highlight of the show was Imperial Baarez, the reserve Champion Stallion.  Tarek and Ahmed Soliman are 2 of the nicest people you will ever meet in the Arabian horse business.  We first met Tarek over a phone call when he wanted to buy our mare Hadayyah several years ago, but at the time she was not for sale.  Tarek in his very confidant voice said that he would like to buy Baarez instead, after a small chuckle we told him that would be impossible. Well in a few short years Tarkek has assembled one of the finest collection of Egyptian Arabian horses in Egypt and perhaps the world, including Baarez and our mare Hadayyah.  Have to love a guy that has goals and sticks with them.

As always the All Nations cup is the highlight on the show calendar and is a must see show for anyone in the Arabian horse business.
