The 42nd annual U.S. National Arabian and Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show made its debut in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at Expo Square, October 17-25. A total of 1,800+ horses were entered in the show that provided 125 classes across a variety of disciplines that included Mounted Native Costume, English Pleasure, Show Hack, Halter, Sidesaddle, Hunter Pleasure and Western Pleasure.

The Arabian Horse Association produced this nine-day event and was the first year the show was located in Tulsa, Oklahoma after many successful years of rotating between Louisville Kentucky and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The finest halter horses all came out to compete for the title of US National Champion. A few of the highlights were the multi National Champion DA Valentino who had the highest score of the show and won the Jr. Stallion Championship, beating EKS Bey Al Gazal owned by Mystica Arabians of Australia. DA Valentino is now owned by Michele Pfeifer & David Halsch after being purchased at this year's Scottsdale show for a record price.

The junior champion mare was the beautiful French Psylk owned by Robert and Dixie North and shown by Rodolfo Guzzo, who easily won with a 16 point lead. The former US National Champion LD Pistal, now owned by Felix Cantu of Mexico City, Mexico, came back to compete again winning the title of Senior US National Champion Stallion. The International sensation Dakharo, who has already claimed the titles of Aachen Champion, World Champion, World Cup Champion, and currently owned by HRH Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud was the reserve champion Senior Stallion.
