I had the opportunity to speak to Arabian Breeders World Cup judge, Reinaldo de Rocha Leao of Brazil about his experience on the first day of the show. Reinaldo is a breeder since 1981 and a judge since 1989 and has judged more than 150 show throughout South America. The Arabian Breeders World Cup is his first opportunity to judge in the United States. Reinaldo was enthusiastic about his American show ring debut, “Wow! There is nothing like beginning at the top! What an honor to be invited to judge this show; for sure it’s one of the most prestigious competitions in the world. I was so happy to get the invitation because I watched all the other years on the live stream and I have spoken to all the other Brazilians
Today was the first day of the 9 th Annual Arabian Breeders World Cup in Las Vegas. And what a day it was! All I can say is “WOW!”. Some people may have brushed off the first day of the show because it was dedicated to amateurs to show. Too bad - they missed great horses and one of the reasons the Breeders World Cup is now firmly established as, “The best Arabian horse show in America”; and it’s not just me saying this…it’s the judges and the exhibitors too. James Swaenepoel is the first, and only, European member of the AHBA Board of Directors. The 2015 Arabian Breeders World Cup Preview ~ Text and photos By Lisa Abraham The Arabian Breeders World Cup is a spectacular show! 2015 marks the ninth anniversary for the global Arabian community to gather in Las Vegas at the South Point Hotel from April 16-19 to see some of the world's best horses compete. Christine Jamar, of Jadem Arabians (Belgium), one of the industry's most prestigious representatives, shared, "I love this show. I like the point system and that the horses trot--it's much different than they do in Scottsdale and the fact that every year the judge panel is different. I love the atmosphere and the quality. People and horses come from all over the world, making it very international.

The importance of introducing the Arabian horse to the general public is something Mike and Peri Wilson of Wilson Training and Bloodstock are keenly aware of.
