Jadem Arabians Open House: Monday Sept 28 th , 2015 By Lisa Abraham My first encounter with Christine Jamar was in 2012 at the Midwest and Fazenda Floresta Cocktail Party and Stallion Presentation in Scottsdale. She had assisted Luciana Fasano (Brazil) with her purchase of the straight Egyptian stallion Al Hadiyah AA and was there to present him. Of course I had heard of Christine, but this was my first time seeing her in person—needless to say, I found her to be impressive. Then in 2014, at the Arabian Breeders World Cup in Las Vegas, I had the fortunate opportunity to spend quality time with her. While watching classes, we chatted over coffee. Even though I was newer and represented smaller publications,
The 35 th Annual US Egyptian Event, “Stallions: Kings of the Nile” By Lisa Abraham The 2015 US Egyptian Event, “Stallions: Kings of the Nile,” from June 2-6, was a show whose importance was marked by the people who attended and who are committed to the Straight Egyptian Arabian horse. This year attendees celebrated the show’s 35 th Anniversary with warm community spirit and loyal camaraderie. Guests arrived not only from the United States, but from various international destinations as well. The pre-show promotion for the Event was outstanding—both formally and casually. Through effective promotional methods, The Pyramid Society (TPS) did
In 2015, Sheikh Hamad bin Ali Al Thani, of Al Rayyan Farm, arrived at the US Egyptian Event, in Lexington, Kentucky, with a string of beautiful, world class straight Egyptian competitors. That year, not only did he sweep up all the ribbons, but also, after time away from the competition ring, he won the hearts of the American Egyptian community. It was also at this show where he and I struck up both a friendship and working relationship. When Sheikh Hamad invited me to attend the 2016 Qatar International Arabian Horse Show and the Al Rayyan presentation of horses, I was thrilled with the opportunity to make a contribution. As my research began, I found that much like the Arab culture, the history of Al Rayyan Farm was

The 2015 Salon Du Cheval D’ El Jadida: Part three of three Tbourida , with a contribution by Dr. Nasr Marei : By Lisa Abraham Several years ago, I was invited to the Salon Du Cheval D’ El Jadida to display my photography. Although it was quite an honor, my schedule did not permit participation, which was a huge disappointment. So this was my first year attending. As my arrangements for the 2015 show, were made very close to the departure date—there was little time for research. So mentally, I came without preconceived ideas and ready for a brand new show experience. My first sign that this was going to be a positive experience was coincidentally meeting longtime friend and artist, Ali Almimar, at the Casablanca airport
Fall was in the air as the colors of the season were beginning to appear and the heat of the summer was replaced with a cool, comfortable breeze. It was a perfect day on September 21, 2016 when Judith Forbis and I visited Dr. Hans Nagel at his Katharinenhof Stud in Northern Germany. Our visit took place just days before the All Nations Cup was to be held in Aachen where Judith, long known for her Ansata Arabian Stud and various educational activities, was to be recognized as the first person to receive the All Nations Cup Lifetime Achievement Award. After spending time walking around the stables and looking at all of Dr. Nagel’s horses, including the latest foal crop, we relaxed in the sitting room at the farm’s charming cottage. Although I have enjoyed personal friendships with both Dr. Nagel and Judith, it was an honor to experience them together in this lovely and informal setting as they shared precious memories of their influential past.
