The 2016 All Nations Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses Text and photos by Lisa Abraham The 2016 All Nations Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses, which took place from September 23-25, was a spectacular show and event. After the busy show season of summer, the competition elevates at the All Nations Cup (ANC), as this show is the first leg of the European Triple Crown. It is here that the farms choose who will represent them—and all stops are pulled. Once again, all festivities took place in the Albert-Vahle-Halle, located in the heart of the charming German city of Aachen. Although the arena provided an intimate atmosphere and is functional for showing horses, the spectacular décor of the
They were best friends for over two decades, inseparable, and sharing pastures together through their mothering years. Two greats in their own right, whose contributions are incalculable. On April 21, 2016, Little Liza Fame left this world right before her 28th birthday. Just three days later, Shahteyna joined her at 34 years old. And though it is difficult to lose them, there is joyous comfort in seeing these two share their lives together, only to be reunited in a different place in short order. Thank you to Michael Byatt and his staff for taking care of these two grand dames to the very end, with love and dignity. In Michael's words: "Its difficult to announce to the world the loss of another beloved treasure
His story is worthy of being a Hollywood blockbuster: a hand-reared orphan foal, a champion racehorse and sire, owned by two billionaires and a desert prince, and twice sold with a complete herd of mares. Having won 19 of his 23 races, he was leading sire in USA no less than three times. Of course, we're talking about Monarch AH. The race below was the first start of his final year of racing. His jockey never even moves through the entire race, where Monarch leaves the rest of the field to win by over 10 lengths. It is chilling to watch. # MonarchAH # GreatMoments Great Moments is a feel-good service of EvieInc Equine Social Media. www.EvieInc.net

Judy Sirbasku of Arabians LTD: The Exclusive 36th Anniversary Signature Sponsor
It is exciting to announce that the 2016 exclusive 36th Anniversary Signature Sponsor was Judi Sirbasku of Arabians LTD—most particularly as this was her second consecutive year. Judy’s contribution and support of this show has been enormous. Not only has she bred and owned many of the horses competing each year, but she also represents a strong client base. It is also important to note that an impressive number of Pyramid Society members and SE breeders were initially introduced to this breed through the efforts of Judy, her late husband Jim and Arabians Ltd.
Anna Bishop: The late great football coach Vince Lombardi is credited with a quote which very effectively summarized the impact of teamwork. He stated, “Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.” Certainly a spirit of teamwork and a belief in the group

It was five days of exciting competition and warm Arabian hospitality and comradery. To experience a horse event in Qatar is a privilege, as the horse has occupied a treasured role in the history of the country. In an article titled “Al Shaqab—Galloping
In 2015, Sheikh Hamad bin Ali Al Thani, of Al Rayyan Farm, arrived at the US Egyptian Event, in Lexington, Kentucky, with a string of beautiful, world class straight Egyptian competitors. That year, not only did he sweep up all the ribbons, but also, after time away from the competition ring, he won the hearts of the American Egyptian community. It was also at this show where he and I struck up both a friendship and working relationship. When Sheikh Hamad invited me to attend the 2016 Qatar International Arabian Horse Show and the Al Rayyan presentation of horses, I was thrilled with the opportunity to make a contribution. As my research began, I found that much like the Arab culture, the history of Al Rayyan Farm was
