Humanity for Horses is a sanctuary located at the base of Mt. Shasta on over 150 acres of land in far northern California. Established in 2012, it is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was established to rescue and sanctuary unwanted and abused horses and other farm animals. Over the past two years, in addition to the construction of horse enclosures, a hay barn, and animal hospital, Humanity for Horses has achieved accreditation from the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) and Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS). Many of my works are large or life-size urban equestrian paintings, "Urban Equines". By that I mean the energy, beauty, and classic equine form expressed in purely contemporary terms. What gives my work its edge is a deep personal familiarity with the physical horse… and an expansive sense that the movement is bigger than what you see.
