Spirit Acres Farm Equine Rescue & Sanctuary is located in Montgomery, Texas. Our resident population of 50 horses plus, includes all breeds and ages. We provide care of any horse, its mental and physical health will be attended and their stay with us may be permenent as we do retire horses here. But there is no time frame for a horse to recover and finally be prepared to be adopted or fostered, it is the horses needs that is our focus always. Volunteers are us, and we do train and maintain a small staff. In our hope to educate and open minds to the needs of the horses now and the future. The Arabian Reining Horse Association is dedicated to promoting and enhancing the opportunities for the Arabian Reining horse. We hold an annual Arabian and Half-Arabian Reining Horse Futurity at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. In 2008 we awarded over $130,000 in prize money! The history of the Arabian Horse Association of Florida dates back to the early 1950's when a group in south Florida who loved the Arabian horse banded together to plan the future of the Arab in the state. Among those active in organizing the association then were Mrs. Diane Schwartzberg, Mr. and Mrs. John Vance, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smathers, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Flick and Ms. Liz Langford. Shortly thereafter the Florida Association became a member of the International Arabian Horse Association. The primary purposes of the Florida Association are to promote the Arabian horse in the state, to maintain the annual high point awards and futurity programs and to encourage shows throughout the state.
The Arabian Breeders World Cup held each year in April, is one of the premier purebred Arabian horse shows in the world. With Las Vegas as the backdrop, the event is truly an "International horse show" that will unite breeders worldwide. It is a showcase for the natural beauty, nobility, excitement and unique characteristics of the Arabian horse.
The purpose of AHA Region 7 is to promote, encourage and stimulate popular interest in the outstanding using qualities of the Arabian Horse, to formulate publicity and educational programs in the interest of the Arabian Horse owner, club and enthusiast, to foster and encourage good relations between members, to promote and coordinate Arabian horse show activities throughout AHA Region 7, and to hold the Arabian and Half-Arabian Region 7 Championship Horse Show.
What they do... Domestic companion and farm animals of all kinds (with an emphasis on horses) find a safe haven at this unique and dedicated animal facility. Working in cooperation with law enforcement, animal welfare agencies and the private sector, we take in those animals that have been abandoned, abused or neglected. Healing Hearts operates a fully equipped Mobile Veterinary Surgical Unit with care provided by Dr. Kathleen Slocum, DVM with over 20 years of experience. We offer an extensive range of medical and surgical procedures to animal rescue agencies, along with outreach into rural and low income areas. Since 1956, the Arabian Horse Owners Foundation has focused on horse art, history and education and has become a valuable resource for the Arabian horse enthusiast.
