The 2015 Arabian Breeders World Cup, from April 16-19th in Las Vegas (USA), was another memorable show experience. This year marked its ninth anniversary as one of the world’s top showcases for Arabian horses. Known for its international appeal, competitors and guests travel from all over the world to participate. Denis Schoukens, from Belgium, was in attendance to support his son Glenn, of Schoukens Training Center. He shared, “I have been to the Breeders World Cup in Las Vegas several times and without a doubt, this year's show was the best. In many ways the World Cup reminds me of the top European shows. The staging and arrangement of the arena was excellent. It was quite elegant and nice for the people to watch and enjoy and it was an ideal set up for the handlers to present the horses. The great horses, great breeders and special friends made it a show to remember."
The South Point Hotel and Casino has been the home to the ABWC since the beginning. It is a unique locale as show participants and guests can actually stay where the show is being held—which makes for exceptional convenience. The Hotel was opened in February 2006 and is the only one in Las Vegas to offer equestrian facilities. It hosts over 60 shows annually, of various disciplines and breeds and offers 4600 seats with 1200 stalls—ample room for even the largest expositions.

By Beth Ellen Hunziker I have had a lifelong love affair with horses and all art forms that features their image. Even from my earliest memories, I selected my library books, always about horses, based upon the quality of the illustrations. Many years later, the allure of equine art still captivates me. To be honest, I have actually purchased art rather than buy groceries. It seems I would rather feed my soul than my body. In fact, I have more art pieces than wall space, so I switch out my art depending on the season, and my mood. Recently a friend sent me an e-mail announcing The Third Annual Sporting Art Auction , in affiliation with Keeneland and Cross Gate Gallery. The featured illustration on the e-mail is by

A Special Vegas Moment Text and photos by Lisa Abraham The Arabian horse world is dynamic. Change can occur at lightning speed with eruptions of trends—some of which will fade as quickly as they began, while others will influence generations. Many of these trends begin in the show ring, on the scorecards of our Judges. Because of this, every show is important and each provides memorable experiences. If we are really lucky, it is with our own horse in the ring. But at world class shows such as the Arabian Breeders World Cup (in Las Vegas) the opportunities for lasting memories are endless. As both horses and people travel from all over the world to participate, whether it be as a competitor and/or a spectator,
