2008 Egyptian Event

The Pyramid Society recently held the 28th Annual Egyptian Event from June 1-7th at the Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington, KY. In keeping with a tradition of excellence, the 2008 Egyptian Event was a great success from both exhibitors' and attendees' perspectives. A record-setting number of Egyptian horses attended this highly competitive, international horse show. While many other horse shows throughout the United States have experienced a decline in entry numbers, the Egyptian Event continues to rise. Also record-setting was the money awarded to exhibitors competing in the Egyptian Breeders' Challenge class, over $80,000 was paid out within those classes.

A panel of judges representing Jordan, South Africa, Canada and Sweden repeatedly expressed their astonishment of the beauty and quality of the Egyptian horses present at the Egyptian Event. Beyond the judging panel, The Pyramid Society welcomed international guests representing over 20 countries. Attendees and exhibitors enjoyed bidding on some of the world's leading equine art throughout the week and on Friday night at the Gala and Live Auction. From the educational seminars to the exciting competition and all the shopping in between, a memorable time was had by all.
