The Arabian horse is dear to me because it reflects my culture and heritage. This magnificent animal is intertwined in every aspect of our lives and history, both globally and in this region of Qatar specifically. Thanks to HH The Father Emir Shk. Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, his globally renowned Al Shaqab Stud has helped preserve the Arabian horse in Qatar and the Middle East. His vision to protect and breed sound, elegant Arabian horses has been inspiring. And it is personal for me as well, as Al Shaqab is where I experienced my first ride on an Arabian horse, signaling the beginning of my deep love affair with the Arabian horse. And that passion resulted in the birth of a breeding program of my own several years ago. I truly believe that Al Shaqab and the vision of HH The Father Emir played an essential role in my falling in love with the Arabian horse initially, and even now, guiding and providing a framework for success to aspire to in my own breeding program, that of Al Khor Stud.
My passion for the Arabian horse lives in me completely, and it all falls to the breeding side. The idea of breeding, and the “Art of Breeding” as Mr. Nagel puts it in the title of his book, is the essence of my passion for Arabian horses. The excitement, the pride and joy for the Arabian horse all stems from breeding. The exhilaration of seeing your breeding decisions come to life, along with the pride and joy in watching them succeed in the show ring, is the ultimate win.
