A Few Days Until the Horse of the Tour is Decided

One point. Two contenders. One final opportunity.

With the 2026 Global Champions Arabians Tour approaching its decisive finale in Aachen, just one point separates Aesar Alwajba and Shalwa Al Adwan in the race for Horse of the Tour.

Aesar Alwajba leads the standings with 90 points, with Shalwa Al Adwan just behind on 89. After five stages, the title will now come down to the GCAT Final in Aachen, which is the last opportunity of the season to collect points.

Head to Head

Aesar has recorded three Gold Championships and one Silver across five appearances, while Shalwa has demonstrated remarkable consistency with two Golds, two Silvers and one Bronze, finishing on the podium at every stage.

Their season-long contest has remained remarkably close. Abu Dhabi gave Aesar the early advantage, leading Shalwa 20–17, before both collected maximum points in Doha, maintaining the three-point margin.

In Muscat, Shalwa closed the gap completely, with the pair leaving the stage level on 57 points. Aesar responded in Monaco, opening the season’s widest margin at five points, 77–72.

Then came London. Shalwa collected 17 points to Aesar’s 13, cutting the five-point advantage to just one.

It All Comes Down to Aachen

With only Aachen remaining, the margins could hardly be tighter. Gold guarantees Aesar the Horse of the Tour title, while Shalwa needs to finish one position ahead of Aesar to move ahead in the standings.

Across five stages, the gap has moved from three points, to level, to five, and now to just one.

A season spanning five stages now comes down to one final result in Aachen, with one point separating the two horses chasing the 2026 Horse of the Tour title.
