WestWorld Equidome Expansion Approved

The Scottsdale City Council approved the WestWorld Equidome expansion on Wednesday, July 5th. With the addition of climate control, WestWorld, this premier equestrian and special event facility in Scottsdale, Arizona, will be open year round.

Construction is expected to begin in spring 2012 and will be done in phases so the Equidome remains available for production each current event season. It is expected to be completed in the fall of 2013.

The $30 million upgrade will more than double the size of WestWorld's current facility, and may be financed with the hotel bed tax or a bond election.

With the new ability to be open year round, the facility will be available for events June to August, bringing in new revenue and providing a venue for summer riding camps and shows.
